Top 5 Favs as a New Farm Mom

Today I’m sharing my Top 5 Favorite things as a new mom on the farm.

A Good Carrier

When Waylon was born I immediately started using the Solly Baby wrap. It is SO comfortable for me and Waylon. They can seem intimidating at first but once you learn how to properly wrap them, it’s a lifesaver. It’s also a lot more secure than you might think! This is my go-to day-to-day wrap.

Now, if you need something a little tougher for around the farm, I suggest the Ergobaby 360 Carrier. You will need to buy the infant insert if you are using this with a new born. Once your baby is 12lbs or 4 months old, and has pretty good neck control, it can be used without the insert. I never bought the infant insert and waited until Waylon was big enough to fit in it. It’s amazing on the farm, and it’s tough.

Glow Workwear Pants

Think Lululemon and Wrangler had a baby… that’s what Glow Workwear is to me. Having a baby has changed my body in many ways, and I was genuinely worried about finding new work pants that were not only tough, but that would be comfortable on this new body of mine.

Then I found Glow. These pants are stretchy and tough. They have 2 different designs.

The Squeeze, in my opinion is a little stretchier and a little thicker.

The Rejuvenate, a little less stretchy and a little lighter fabric.

They are both still very stretchy, comfortable, and ready for work.

A Wagon

I highly recommend a WAGON! We got a pretty fancy stroller but, as an infant, Waylon had to be in his car seat to be in the stroller… and he did not love that.

I ordered this wagon from Target, grabbed the Snuggle Me pillow, and laid him down in the wagon. It worked out great! And the mosquito net was a MUST for me. I really like this particular wagon because it can be pulled like a wagon, or pushed like a stroller.

As far as price, I picked one that I felt like was in the middle of the road. There are some cheaper ones you can find on Amazon or Costco. And the top of the line one seems to be Veer. Find what works for you! But so far, I’m very happy with this purchase.

It’s also going to be great when he gets a bit older and can sit in it. He’ll be able to have his toys, food, and drinks all in there,

Carhartt DIY Diaper Bags

Why buy a fancy diaper bag just to ruin it on the farm?  No, these aren’t real diaper bags, but I love them! I’m not worried about them getting dirty or ruined on the farm, because they’re CARHARTT!! Surprisingly, I’ve been using the tote much more than the backpack. But the backpack does come in handy when you need the cooler. They’re both tough, and perfect for a DIY diaper bag.

Willow Pump

I will admit, I don’t pump too often. Currently, I’m exclusively breastfeeding, so I only pump about once a day so I can have a small stash. I can’t even imagine being stuck to the wall for one 20 minute session a day. Let alone multiple times.

If you’re a pumping Momma, I HIGHLY recommend a Willow Breast Pump. You can work around the house, pump on the go, do farm chores… basically anything!

Bonus item for the baby:

Lovevery Toys! These toys are basically the only toys we’ve gotten for Waylon so far. Our two favorite items are their Play Kits, which include age-appropriate toys, along with a book explaining how to use all the toys, and ideas on how to play with your baby at that particular age.

We also LOVE the Play Gym. The mat alone is worth every penny! Waylon lays on this, does tummy time, and is able to explore all the different sides of it. We also take this right in my work truck. When I’m parked in the field, I fold up the backseats in my F150, layout the playmat and the toys that came in his play kit, and he’s a happy camper.

Check out Lovevery if you need toys for your little one. I hope they enjoy it as much as Waylon does!
